Wayne McIntosh signs

We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Wayne McIntosh from our Midlothian neighbours Bonnyrigg Rose ahead of the new season, as Wayne becomes our third new addition of the summer.

Wayne has been a prolific goal scorer over the years, often claiming top scorer over the course of a season. In 2006, at the age of 21, Wayne joined Whitehill Welfare for the first time, scoring 35 goals over two seasons, winning the East of Scotland League in his second season at Ferguson Park. He then moved into the Juniors with a spell at Arniston Rangers before enjoying spells at Lothian Thistle and Tynecastle before returning to Whitehill in 2011.

His second spell with Whitehill proved to be more prolific than his first, as he scored 74 times over three seasons, adding a second East of Scotland League winners medal alongside South Challenge, Image Printers and City Cup winners medals to his collection, forming a great partnership with Aaron Somerville.

He returned to the Juniors at the beginning of the 2015-16 season with our neighbours Bonnyrigg Rose and hit the ground running, ending his debut season with 37 goals in all competitions and a Super League winner. He also set up Adam Nelson’s equaliser against ourselves in the Fife & Lothians Cup Final at the end of that season. He continued to score at a regular rate, becoming Bonnyrigg’s all-time top goalscorer in the Scottish Cup during their run in the competition during the 2016-17 season before winning a second Super League last season along with a Fife & Lothians Cup Winners’ medal. Overall he played 117 times for Bonnyrigg and scored 79 goals.

Welcome to Penicuik Wayne!
