Penicuik created the first chance in the 3rd minute when a long ball over the top of the Rose defence set up McDonald, but he dragged his shot inches wide of the right hand post. Five minutes later a Gray strike was cleared off the line by Forbes. The visitors took the lead in the 17th minute when McINTOSH headed home from a corner kick. On the half hour, GRAY muscled his way past the Penicuik defence and smashed the ball into the roof of the net from close range. Three minutes later it was 0-3 when a Brett free kick crashed back off the upright but TURNER followed up to stroke the rebound into the net. In the 35th minute, Turner came close with a strike that flashed past the junction of the har and post. Then a Bonnyrigg free kick on the left deceived everyone, hit the post and rebounded into the arms of keeper Easton. At the other end, a Jancyzk free kick was volleyed by Jones but was easily gathered by keeper Andrews. Immediately afterwards, a Somerville free kick flew high over the bar.

In the opening minute of the half, a deep cross by Orru saw the ball hit the crossbar and away for a goal kick. Then a brilliant intervention by Forbes cut out a dangerous cross to deny Turner at the back post. Then in the 55th minute Jancyzk was up ended in the box by Turner and a penalty was awarded, converted by SOMERVILLE, sending Andrews the wrong way. Bonnyrigg kicked off and went straight up the park only for McIntosh to curl a shot over the bar. Two minutes later, Hume headed over from a Jancyzk free kick. In the 63rd minute Bonnyrigg restored their three goal lead when JAMIESON headed home off a corner kick. Then a great run by Barr saw him round keeper Andrews but lost his footing at the vital moment. In the 77th minute, Jancyzk free kick flew high over the crossbar. Just before full time keeper Easton pulled off a top drawer save turning McIntosh’s powerful strike round the post.
