Johnny Harvey appointed as the new Penicuik Athletic Manager

Penicuik Athletic are delighted to announce that Johnny Harvey has accepted the role of Penicuik Athletic Manager with immediate effect.

A fan favourite during two spells at the Cuikie as a player, Johnny scored 100 goals in 147 matches before stepping into management with his hometown club Tranent for a brief stint during season 2012/13.

He then took the reins at Edinburgh United and led the Capital club to the South Division Championship before a summer switch to Haddington Athletic. He repeated the South Division title success with the Hi-Hi before guiding them to a top five finish in their debut Premier League campaign.

Johnny revealed in the Edinburgh Evening News that the chance to manage Penicuik was 'too good to turn down', and has already announced that Keith Wright, David Lees, John Menzies and Alix Ronaldson will follow him from Haddington to Penicuik to form our new backroom team. He also hopes to make an announcement on his new assistant manager this week, with Ryan Gay set to combine the role with his playing duties.

Everyone at Penicuik Athletic would like to wish Johnny and his team a warm welcome to the club and wish them every success in the future.
