This Sunday sees us host Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale in the East of Scotland Premier Division, the final match of this year's Scottish Groundhop 2023.
The Scottish Groundhop is a long standing traditional in the Non-League calendar, and indeed this Sunday marks our third scheduled involvement. We were due to travel to Bo'ness United in the curtailed 2019/20 season before finally making our Groundhop debut last campaign, a 2-1 win at Crossgates Primrose last March.
When the fixture list was unveiled last July, we were delighted to see that Penicuik Park had been selected not only as a Groundhop venue for the first time, but also as the finale to the trip. Indeed initial plans for this Sunday were discussed almost immediately and we look forward to being able to show our club and our town at their best this Sunday, at the earlier kickoff time of 12:15pm.
Admission for the match is set at £8 with Under 16s free of charge. This is due to the agreement made between the organisers of the 'Hop' - Groundhop UK - and the East of Scotland Football Association. Our season ticket holders were of course also have their usual access to Penicuik Park on what is sure to be a busy day.
We look forward to welcoming our guests from around the UK to Penicuik Park, and more importantly, welcoming our Cuikie Family as we begin life under our new Manager, Calum Elliot.
