David Hannah is our new Manager

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of David Hannah as the new Manager of Penicuik Athletic Football Club.

David becomes our tenth manager of the modern era and brings with him a wealth of coaching experience, as well as a high level of playing experience.

David began his playing career with Dundee United, where he made his debut in February 1992, becoming a vital part of the side which won the 1994 Scottish Cup with a 1-0 against Rangers at Hampden Park. Having also broken into the Scotland U21 squad and having made 93 league appearances for United, he attracted the attention of Celtic, making the move to Parkhead for a fee of £650,000 in 1996. During his time at Celtic, David won both the Scottish Premier Division and Scottish League Cup, completing his set of all three main domestic honours.

He returned to Dundee United in February 1999, seven years after his original debut, and made a further 124 league appearances for the Tannadice club. Following his second departure from Dundee United, he spent a brief spell in Cyprus with AEL Limassol before heading to the Scottish Highlands with Ross County. Moves to St Johnstone, Bury, Brechin City, Grindavik, Cowdenbeath, Fylkir and Montrose rounded off his time as a player, with his time at Montrose also seeing him take his first managerial post, combining playing with being caretaker manager.

His coaching career has seen him take on a number of roles both at home and abroad, having spent time coaching at the University of Dundee, Einherji, West Ottawa, Brams United, Waterloo United, PS Kemi, Ottawa South United and Halifax Dunbrack.

We wish David all the very best in his new role and look forward to welcoming him into our Cuikie Family!
