We are delighted to confirm defender Andy Forbes has agreed to return to Penicuik Athletic from Berwick Rangers ahead of season 2019/20.
Andy’s first spell at Penicuik Park began back in 2016 when he joined the Cuikie from Haddington Athletic and quickly established himself a firm fan favourite, winning both the Supporters and Players Player of the Year awards at the end of his first season, having scored eight times in thirty six appearances.
His second season saw further recognition as Andy was became Penicuik’s first Junior Scotland International since the 1970s as well as retaining his Supporters Player of the Year award, adding the Committee Award as well. Andy also lined up in the East of Scotland Cup Final victory against Tranent, to cap a season in which he scored a further four goals in thirty five appearances. However his biggest highlight of the season was missing the trip to Broughty for his wedding to Catherine!
Last season saw Andy have the honour of captaining the side in their first match back in the Senior ranks as he took the armband for the match against Sauchie, playing twelve times and scoring twice before his departure from the club in November to join Berwick Rangers.
